So I was just hit with the concept that when I’m depressed I’m not feeling my feelings, but rather, I am suppressing my feelings. In all my years of studying psychology or going to therapy, I’ve never been told this and my head is reeling! I thought I WAS feeling my feelings and that my feelings were obviously sad and crappy and that’s why I was depressed! I mean, when I’m depressed I’m feeling hopeless! I’m confused.
